Registration & Pre-Season

The fee for Mites is $195, Squirt-Bantams $250, and $350 for Midgets. This fee includes a series of Pre-Season skates to prepare the player for the tryout sessions. Tryout registration fees are a mandatory charge for all players and are non-refundable regardless of the number of sessions attended.

Please note  a season deposit is a part of the tryout registration for Mite through Bantam Players. This Season Deposit, while paid at time of Tryout Registration applies to the Season Fees. This amount will be collected on the first day of tryouts (unless the registrant selects the ‘Pay in Full’ option) and is non-refundable at that point.  Please see the tryout information packet for deposit amounts and more information regarding this policy.

Following the tryout process, and once the players are placed on a team, you will receive a second registration link to set up your player fee schedule for the fall season. You will have 24 hours to register to secure your player’s roster spot or another player may be moved up as a replacement. Players are not allowed on the ice until they are officially registered.

We ask that all players are registered for tryouts by July 31, 2024. As an incentive to register early, any player registered by July 31st will be entered in a drawing to win FREE tryout fees (one winner per level – Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget). Winners will be chosen on Sunday, August 25th, and need not be present to win.

Drop-ins will be accepted for the Pre-Season skates starting at $25 per session. Players must provide proof of USA Hockey insurance for the 2024-25 season. If the player decides to participate in tryouts, they must register on our website, and the drop-in fees will be refunded. Goaltenders, please attend all sessions.

Uniform & Jersey Fitting

The organization is proud to offer one-of-a-kind jerseys and custom equipment offerings, helping to create a sense of pride in how our players look, both on and off the ice. It is your responsibility to maintain the appearance of your players’ uniforms throughout the season.

Our first Uniform & Jersey Fitting day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at Jerry’s Hockey - Mount Prospect inside Nicholas Sportsplex.  If your player has practice or pre-tryout skates, please attend the fitting prior to taking the ice. Also please bring shoulder pads and hockey pants/girdles to the fitting.

JERSEY FITTING FAQS

Why are jersey fittings prior to tryouts and team selections?

This ensures timely delivery to ensure the players have jerseys for the start of the season. The Chargers high-quality, Athletic Knit Jerseys are Customized for each player, which takes time to produce.

How does my player select their jersey number?

Player’s numbers are selected at the fitting based on their Birth Year and Number Availability.

Birth Year: Players born in Even Numbered years (ex. 2014, 2012, etc.) will select an Even Number based on availability. Players born in Odd Numbered years (ex. 2015, 2013, etc.) will select an Odd Number based on availability. This format helps ensure that players’ numbers do not overlap at any given age level. No exceptions to this rule.

Number Availability: Jersey Number Boards displayed at the fittings list all current Charger Players and their numbers and show the available numbers at each birth year. Open numbers are selected on a “First Come” Basis – Numbers will not be held and cannot be requested.

What if my player does not make a team, will I be issued a refund?

Yes. If your player is not selected for a team, Jerry’s Hockey will refund your money. Payment is expected at fittings which also secures your players’ number.

My player’s socks are still in good shape from last year do I need to purchase a new pair?

No. As long as there are no cuts, tears, or visible wear and tear you can use your socks from the previous season. We want all of our players to look their best when they take the ice for the Chargers!

We cannot make the Fitting Date, what are our options?

We strongly encourage you to attend the First Fitting Date. This will help ensure your Player’s Jerseys are ready for the upcoming start of the season and their preferred number.
