Learn To Skate Level 1-2

Learn to Skate (LTS) Levels 1 & 2

The Learn to Skate Program is a series of progressive classes for new skaters, with little to no skating experience (target age 3-7).  At the introductory levels, the primary focus is proper skating technique; students will master appropriate and specific progressive skating skills that will foster a successful transition into the Pre-Hockey and Mite hockey programs. 
 
Level 1: Falling & Getting Up; Marching, 2-foot glides, Forward Dip, Backward Wiggles, 2-foot Snowplow Stops, Forward Swizzles
Level 2: 1-foot Glides (R/L), Backward Swizzles, Scooter Pushes (R/L), 2-foot jumps, 1-foot Snowplow Stops
 
Equipment Requirements:  Skaters in Levels 1 & 2 should not wear full equipment as it limits a skater's movement.  A helmet is required.  Rentals are available at the Mount Prospect Ice Arena.  Please bring mittens or gloves (not hockey gloves).

Wednesdays 4:00-5:00PM: November 2- December 28 (9 classes) -- Cost $150

Fridays 4:00-5:00PM:  November 11 - December 30 (6 classes) -- Cost $120

Saturdays 9:10-10:10AM:  November 12 - December 17 (5 classes) -- Cost $100
