We warmly welcome you to the Northwest Chargers 40th Season. This webpage will provide you with important dates, processes and schedules to guide you through the 2022/23 tryout season.   

2022/23 Season Highlights:

• Skills will now be offered once per week on Mondays for our Mite-Bantam aged Skaters via Wayne Brown, Tim Benz and our Skills Team
• Goalie Clinics will now be offered once per week on Mondays for our goaltenders via Good As Gould Goalie School
• Dryland training via the Health Performance Institute (a division of Illinois Bone & Joint) will now be offered once per week on Mondays for our Squirt-Midget players
• Set team practice schedules

These upgrades to our program will be delivered to you with NO INCREASE IN PLAYER FEES.

Tryout registration is open.  The fee for Mites is $195, Squirt-Bantams $250, and $350 for Midgets. This fee includes a series of pre-tryout conditioning skates to prepare the player for the tryout sessions. Tryout registration fees are a mandatory charge for all players and non-refundable regardless of number of sessions attended. Once players are placed on a fall roster, an additional team-specific registration will be required to set up fall payment plans.

Walk-ins will be accepted for the pre-season skates for $25 per session. Players must provide proof of USA Hockey insurance for the 2022/23 season. If the player decides to participate in tryouts, they must register on our website, and the walk-in fee will be refunded.

We ask that all players are registered by July 31, 2022. As an incentive to register early, any player registered by July 31st will be entered in a drawing to win FREE tryout fees (one winner per level – Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget). Winners will be chosen on Sunday, August 28th and need not be present to win.

Squirts, PeeWees, Bantams and Midgets:  Before you register for Chargers tryouts, you must complete your 2022/23 USA Hockey Registration.  Please follow these steps:

• Apply for membership at the following link:  https://membership.usahockey.com
• Select ICE PLAYERS & COACHES and follow the instructions
• Use the USA Hockey Confirmation Number when you register online for tryouts with the Northwest Chargers

Mites:  The Chargers will register your player for the Amateur Athletic Union, as this is included in your tryout registration fee.  No action needed.
