A native of Abbotsford, BC, Canada, I started on skates at 3 years old, and grew up on street hockey and rinks north of the border. I received an early foundation for skating with instructors Marv Waller (2x BC Hockey Development Award in Coaching), Dwayne Lowdermilk(NHL Alum) and Power Skating Pioneer Laura Stamm. After playing minor Hockey for the AAA Abbotsford Hawks and 3 years in BC Junior Hockey League, I came to the USA to play for the NCAA Division III, St. Norbert College Green Knights. I graduated in 2002 from SNC with a degree in Business Administration.
I started coaching and assistant coaching various Bantam AA and Squirt AA hockey teams. This led me down the path to spending 4 years skills training and mentoring over 2600 private and semi-private lessons at Diamond Hockey. The last 3 years I have been the lead skating and skills coach for the Winnetka Warriors, Jr. Warriors, and WarHawks hockey clubs. In this role, I have provided over 1000 small group and large group skills training sessions for players aged 6 -14. When I'm not at the rink, you can find me devoted to spending time with my family: wife Tiffany, daughter Callie and son Joey. I'm very grateful and excited to be working with the Chargers Program.
We welcome Minnesota native, Nick Lehr as our new Chargers Goalie Director. Nick has a young and fresh perspective of the game as a recent Division 1 player, having coached goalies, as an assistant, and as a scout and evaluator of hockey talent throughout China and the U.S. Nick will call the Mount Prospect Ice Arena his home away from home, as he embarks on his new position with the Chargers and also serves as Goalie Director of the Reapers Hockey Association.
We welcome Coach Mark Roy to our Chargers organization this Spring Season. Mark is charged with creating a beginner hockey program that will be fondly known as The Future Chargers. The Future Chargers are a program that will introduce the game of hockey to our young pre-mites and teach the basic skills to become future travel hockey players. Currently the Director of Team and Player Services at 200x85 LLC, Mark comes to us most recently from the Chicago Mission. Mark has a very extensive background focusing mostly on player development which spans from his high school years, through camps, coaching, player development both at home and abroad. With too many accolades to note, we are thrilled to add him to the Chargers family. More information regarding the Future Chargers and Mark will be available soon.
