NORTHWEST CHARGERS SPRING – SUMMER PROGRAMS

MITE - BANTAM

The Northwest Chargers will be offering a variety of programs for the Spring & Summer seasons for players Mites – Midgets. These programs will be run by our coaching staff that will be in place for the Fall 2012 season. These coaches will be announced by the end of February. We know that many players participate in other sports during the Spring & Summer, and we do not discourage this practice. As we outline our programs, we will list schedules dates & times for all programs so you will be able to plan your family schedules. MITE – BANTAM SKILLS & GAMES - April 2 – May 24

This spring, the Chargers have put together a program in which each player will participate in both team & individual skill sessions and scrimmage games. During this 8 week period, each player will participate in 7 – skill sessions. We will divide each division into 3 teams in which they will play each other in a series of games. Each player will play in 10 games during this time. We ask that each player bring a light & dark jersey with a player number on the back to each game.

TOURNAMENTS

In addition to the skill nights & games, all players will be placed on teams to participate in a local tournament the weekend of April 27 - 29 or May 18 – 20. Some coaches may decide to enter a second tournament, if a player participates in a second tournament, they will be charged separately.

SUMMER SKATES – July 9 – August 18

This will be a once a week ice slot for each age group. The first half of the ice slot will be used for drills, during the second half of the slot, the players will be divided into 2 teams for a controlled scrimmage.  All sessions will be 1 ½ hours in length. All sessions will be run by the Charger Coaching Staff. We ask that all players bring a white & dark jersey. This year, all sessions will be held during the weekdays except for the last skate in which all teams will skate on Saturday August 18 at West Meadows Ice Arena.

3 ON 3 LEAGUE June 3 – July 8

The Northwest Chargers will once again hosting a 3 on 3 League for ages Mite - Bantam. Last summer this was our most attended program during the off season. This concept of 3 on 3 full ice gives the player the opportunity to improve their skill level by playing in a wide open playing environment. Players have to increase their level of play on the ice, as there are only 6 players competing on the large ice surface. Players will improve their skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, and positional play during these games. Players will have the freedom to play the game the way they would as if they were out on the pond as teams will run themselves with little coaching. Kids will have the chance to be kids.

Each player will participate in 6 games during the season.

We ask that all players bring a white & dark jersey.

SUMMER HOCKEY CAMP

Monday August 13 – Friday August 17

The Northwest Chargers will be conducting a week long Hockey Camp for players Mite – Pee Wee. This camp will cover both team & individual skills on ice with classroom & off-ice sessions each day. Instructors for the camp will be headed by Tim Mueller, along with the other members of the Charger Coaching Staff. Each skater will receive 11 hours of ice during the week. Please bring a pair of gym shorts, t-shirt, gym shoes & water bottle to camp each day.

Monday – Friday

Mites              9:30 – 4:00PM

Squirt             11:00 – 5:00PM

Pee Wee       12:30 – 6:00PM

Early drop-off & late pick-up will be available at an extra charge.

Early drop-off as early as 7:30AM & Late pick-up as late as 6PM

$175 FOR ALL OTHERS (Goalies $60)

EARLY OR LATE PICKUP FOR SUMMER CAMP - $10 PER DAY
