This is an open letter to all Northwest Charger
families from the Chargers Board.
We
would like to extend an invitation for all members of
the Charger family to consider serving on the Board. We
typically publicize Board openings on our website
but the organization is at an important juncture and
we want to ensure all of our members are aware of and
have an opportunity to apply for these openings.
The
Chargers Board organizes and provides oversight on a
number of key activities, including:
-
Developing and managing the annual operating budget.
-
Directing fundraising activities for the
organization.
-
Acting as liaison between the Chargers organization
and the Rolling Meadows and Hoffman Estates Park
Districts.
-
Acting as liaison between the Chargers organization
and the leagues in which we participate (NIHL, SWSL
and CSDHL).
-
Providing oversight to the hockey director and
coaching staff.
-
Coordinating team tryouts and selection.
-
Setting day-to-day policy and rules (around travel,
code of conduct, playing out of level).
Our
goals moving forward will be to continue to provide a
high quality product on the ice,
with a diligent oversight of costs,
where the development and enjoyment of our players come
first.
The
Chargers have always enjoyed a reputation for having a
highly involved and committed membership – and this is a
great way to make a difference on the direction and
continued success of the organization. We are looking
for people with a passion to get involved who can bring
a fresh perspective and creative ideas to the Board.
Our
intent is to fill the open Board positions in the next
few weeks – in advance of the planning and budgeting
process for the fall season. If you are interested in
applying for the Board, please email Chris Sciortino at
chriss1@ephmc.com by May 9.
Sincerely,
Board Selection Committee |
